There has been a murder most foul at the Dungeon Mountain!
You play as Dale, a cute dragon detective, on his mission to figure out who killed Mr. Elwood. Journey through the forest, into the Sky Castle, through to the Underdark, to find everything there is to know.
Many moons have passed since I worked on this game, and my memory is foggy, but here's the gist
As a programmer I worked on most everything. Most notably I worked on the player controller, the dialogue system, and rendering. For rendering, there were many fun parts like writing shaders and updating our render engine to be more robust and fast. There were also parts that were less fun, but rewarding as heck in their own rights.
I am most proud of the dialogue system, which I made a specialized tool for to enable anybody on the team to go in and write and craft dialogues with camera cuts, animations, and drama.
Here are some good excerpts from our commit log:
> Added rat voice
> Added corpse prefab
> Updated corpse prefab
> Fixed corpse prefab
> Fixed a bug where AHHFHAHFHH
> Added emotions to all characters
> He sold drugs to everyone
> More better warnings to stop the confusion
We submitted our game to Swedish Game Awards once it was finished, hoping to maybe get a like or two, but to out amazement, we were nominated to every single category that we qualified for! In the end, we won the awards for Gamer's Choice, Best Technical Execution (which had me weeping tears of joy), and Best Execution in Audio. I am so proud of our team, that we managed to pull through with such an amazing game after two years of toil. I owe everything to my team.
